2007- 08 "To Do"

The following are things that we need to accomplish and/or need to be discussed in some way. Please feel free to add to this list as things arise.
  • Update Media Center Handbook
  • Professional Learning Needs

  • Funding for Media Specs to attend GAETC, etc. to share technology knowledge with staff.
  • ITS rep to attend media spec meetings to work with us in addressing tech concerns.

Specific School / District Concerns and Needs
  • Satellite reception for instructional programming
    • Funding for providing satellites to schools that do not have them - will there be efforts to address this problem?
  • Struggling with lack of adequate number of books per student
  • Subscription databases
  • Electronic whiteboard for instruction in media center
  • Classroom LAN or web access to OPAC
  • Wireless hotspots
  • Need up-to-date computers that can handle students' multimedia and production needs
  • Address the need to locate adequate funding to support our school media centers and their educational mission
